Removal of Vascular Skin Lesions (Dilated Superficial Veins and Capillaries)
Vascular skin lesions may develop for a variety of reasons, including thin skin, hereditary factors, or underlying internal diseases. They may also become more visible following sunburn or frostbite due to damage to or dilation of blood vessels near the skin's surface. These lesions can occur on the face as well as on any other area of the body (such as the thighs, calves, etc.) and can be treated with laser procedures.
Laser treatments are recommended during the colder seasons or when you know that you will not be exposed to the sun or use tanning beds in the near future, helping to reduce the risk of developing pigmentation spots.
During the Procedure
Lasers have different treatment settings and parameters. During the procedure, the physician evaluates the patient's individual condition and selects the most appropriate settings for effective treatment. The applicator is moved across the treatment area, targeting the affected vessels. The blood within the dilated capillaries or vascular networks absorbs the laser light energy. The vessel walls heat up, contract, seal together, and become closed off. As a result, the dilated capillaries disappear while the surrounding tissues remain unaffected.
Although the procedure is generally not painful, a tingling or burning sensation may be experienced during treatment. In more sensitive areas, such as around the eyes or nose, discomfort may be slightly more noticeable. Smaller vascular lesions can usually be removed in 1–2 treatment sessions, while larger lesions may require 3–5 sessions.
After the Procedure
Following the procedure, the skin may become slightly red, mildly swollen, and small scabs or blisters may develop. This is a normal skin reaction to treatment and typically resolves within one to two weeks.
To ensure effective treatment results, a Dermatologist Consultation is required (the consultation fee is added to the procedure price).
