Prosthetic Treatment Cases
Single Tooth Restoration
This is most commonly performed using onlays/inlays or crowns; in more complex cases, implants or bridges may be used.
Front teeth can also be restored using veneers.
If a tooth cannot be preserved, implantation is one of the most popular solutions, as it does not require grinding adjacent teeth, thereby preserving healthy neighboring teeth.
Multiple Teeth Restoration
When several teeth are missing, treatment options include removable partial dentures or fixed bridges.
Full Arch Restoration
In cases of complete tooth loss, restoration can be achieved with removable dentures or fixed implant-supported prosthetics, such as the “All-on-4” method.

Aesthetic Prosthetics and Treatment Process
1. Consultation and Treatment Planning
During the first visit:
- a full diagnostic examination is performed
- X-rays, CT scans, or other necessary tests may be carried out
- a personalized treatment plan and alternative options are created
The dentist discusses:
- the condition of your teeth
- possible treatment methods
- duration and stages of treatment
- total cost
2. Smile Trial in the Mouth
A wax-up of the future smile and a trial fitting are performed.
This stage involves:
- facial and smile analysis
- planning restorations
- determining tooth shape and proportions
3. Mock-up (Model)
A dental technician creates a wax model in the lab.
This mock-up is transferred to the patient’s teeth using temporary materials so both the dentist and patient can evaluate:
- tooth shape
- length and size
- functional and aesthetic aspects
This allows the patient to actively participate and express their preferences.
4. Tooth Preparation and Impressions
Once the design is approved:
- teeth are prepared according to the plan
- impressions are taken and sent to the lab
- temporary restorations are provided until the next visit
5. Fitting and Cementation
Permanent restorations are fitted.
If both the dentist and patient are satisfied with:
- color
- shape
- function
they are permanently cemented.
If needed, adjustments are made by the dental technician.
6. Follow-up Visits
Regular check-ups and professional oral hygiene are essential to ensure long-lasting results of prosthetics and implant treatments.
Digital Impressions – A Modern Alternative
Computerized digital prosthetics is one of the newest treatment methods.
Using digital scanning, modeling, and milling:
- restorations are durable, precise, and highly aesthetic
- metal-free constructions are possible
A 3D digital impression is taken using a 3Shape TRIOS scanner.
Main advantage:
No traditional impression materials are needed. Instead, the teeth are scanned digitally, which is especially beneficial for patients with a strong gag reflex.
Digital Smile Design at VIC Clinics
At VIC clinics in Vilnius, patients can “try on” their future smile—just like trying on clothes.
This unique approach allows patients to:
- actively participate in treatment planning
- choose how their smile will look
- see how it matches their facial features
During the consultation:
- high-quality photos of the patient’s smile are taken
- images are uploaded into special digital software
- the dentist selects tooth shape, size, and color
Different smile options are then projected onto the patient’s face, allowing them to see and compare the results before treatment begins.
