Pediatric Dentistry Center
Children’s dental treatment differs from adult dental care, as the main goal is to ensure the child does not become frightened. It is very important that the first visit to the dentist is a familiarization visit, without waiting until the child starts experiencing tooth pain. During this initial visit, the child’s teeth are examined, and they are shown and taught how to properly brush them.
As soon as the first teeth appear, it is essential to start cleaning them immediately and help children develop good oral hygiene habits. For children under 6 years of age, parents should assist with brushing.
It is very important that after evening brushing, children do not eat snacks or drink sugary beverages or milk. Many parents believe that baby teeth do not need treatment because they will eventually fall out, but teeth that fall out or are removed too early can lead to misalignment or bite problems. This may later require orthodontic treatment.
Sealants for molars are a painless procedure that takes only a few minutes. The tooth surface is cleaned, treated with special solutions, and covered with a sealant, which is then hardened using a special light.
